Aller Media partnered with Levels to enhance their digital presence and leverage their network of influencers for social media campaigns. Aller Media has a long presence in the media industry and has during later years pivoted their offering from paper magazines to digital magazines and blog services. To expand their digital offering even more and make use of their vast network of influencers, they wanted to build a service to connect advertisers with influencers in social media campaigns.
In version one of the project, which was named Sparks, I joined midway through and provided UX support. For version two, I had the overall design responsibility of all products, and collaborated closely with another freelance designer who supported with UX and UI.
CLIENT
With a vision to enrich the life of women, Aller is one of the largest media houses in the Nordics. Their most known media are ELLE, MåBra, Svensk Damtidning, Allers, Hemmets Veckotidning, Hänt i Veckan, Femina och Residence.
With Sparks, Aller connects Advertisers, big brands such as The Body Shop, Lumene, etc with influencers and helps make a social media campaign with influencers right for the advertisers brands.

Version One
In the first version of Sparks they expressed a need for an app where influencers could apply to campaigns and an internal admin system to manage campaigns. We had close communication with the Aller team which then did all of the campaigns and reached out manually to the influencers they thought were suited for the campaigns.
We analyzed the current workflow and restructured it to fit an app and web system. Our goal was to simplify the process, making it easier for influencers to apply and for the Aller team to manage campaigns.

Learnings
Due to budget we did not get approval on doing any prior research or later feedback. I would have liked to be able to do more research for the influencer side before designing the app of the product. I would also have liked to follow up more on feedback about how the product was perceived by the influencers. This way we could have ensured an even more user centric product.
